Lego Jurassic World – Didn’t hit the spot
I really am a fan of the Lego franchise games, they remind me of a simpler time when I was addicted to platform type of games like Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World. The secrets within the Lego games and the easter eggs you could discover were a great way to keep you interested and wanting to search for more. However with Lego Jurassic World this is the first time that I have felt playing a Lego game a bit of chore.
I owed it to the price I paid for the game that I must complete this, and so after 5 hours of slogging this I did. All the levels completed on a basic level, without going back repeating them to find the secrets. For me something about this particular game really didn’t grab me, the level designs felt off and it didn’t feel to have the love nor attention to detail put into it like the developers did for the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Now that was done brilliantly, the levels were varied, colourful and sprawling. Everything about the design in the Prates of the Caribbean made you want to explore more and want to get involved with the lore. It’s sad this wasn’t the same with the Jurassic World franchise.
The voices of the characters are just excerpts from the movies, this works well with the Lord of the Rings Lego game but unfortunately the same cannot be said about this particular game. Overall the game doesn’t have any replay value to me which is a shame as I really do enjoy this franchise. If I was you I would recommend ignoring this one and look at the Lego movie game instead.
