Bioshock Remastered Impressions
So the in this day and age remastering seems the way for developers to make a quick buck in and keep their studio alive. For some games I can see the total reason for doing this (e.g. games which came out when HD had just come to the masses) but for some it doesn’t feel like its warranted.
Don’t get me wrong I really enjoyed Bioshock when it first came out, so with intrgue I was really pleased to see they have offered this to PC players for free (providing you already own the game).
I’ve installed the remaster as the original won’t work on Windows 10. Graphically it looks fine, until you get a room with sparks flying by – this glitches to high heaven and makes it look like an amateur has done the coding for them. To be honest in this day and age I’m not surprised as the PC ports always seem treated as a low prirority; unless you got a great studio developing the game (e.g. Rockstar / CD Projekt Red).
If you’ve never played Bioshock I would recommend it, if you have then I would say to you give it a miss and get through the games in your library 🙂
