Doom 2016 – Finished and it’s Great!
Well what can I say about Doom which other peeps haven’t already said? Well talking impartial and being brought up on it as a child all I can say this Doom is what the FPS genre needed! No nampy-pamby Call of Duty regenerate your health when hiding behind a wall, this game forces you to get stuck into the fight.
All the single player aspects of the game have been focussed to keep you in the action and want to get involved. To me this is what the FPS market needed, someone to talk the typical model and throw it out of the window to do their own thing. The great news is that it has worked really well, performing executions give you the ability to get your health back and stay in the middle of the action and using the chainsaw strategically allows you to get your ammo back when you’re in a sticky situation. This makes choosing the right weapon for the fight a bit more and fun and also if you want to use something totally random, you don’t have to worry necessarily if you’re ever gonna pick up any more ammo for it.
All I’m going to say on this game is that I’m really glad I didn’t listen to the critics on this one. As you may have seen Polygon got slated for their review of this game. Here’s some screenshots of my play through
